Connect Claude on the web

This is a cloud path. With Cloud AI Access turned on, Claude on the web can reach your library from any device, with photo previews right in the conversation. Cloud AI Access is included with Pro and Family.

Before you start

You need Avlok with at least one folder or your Apple Photos library processed (Avlok runs on macOS, Windows, and iPhone), an Avlok account, and Cloud AI Access turned on. Cloud AI Access is included with Pro and Family, and starts with a 7-day free trial.

Turn on Cloud AI Access

1. Open Avlok and go to Settings → AI Integration.

   Find Cloud AI Access and turn it on. If you are on the free tier, you will be offered the Pro trial here.

2. Choose which folders to include.

   Cloud AI Access works folder by folder. Pick the folders you want your assistant to be able to search. Folders you leave out stay on your device and never sync. Folders marked private are always excluded.

3. Let the chosen folders sync.

   Avlok uploads small thumbnails and short descriptions for the folders you selected. Your full-resolution photos never leave your device.

Add Avlok in Claude

1. Open Claude’s connector settings.

   In Claude on the web, go to Settings and find the connectors section.

2. Add a custom connector.

   Add Avlok using the connector URL shown in Avlok’s Cloud AI Access settings (Settings → AI Integration). Copy it from there so you have the exact address.

3. Sign in to Avlok.

   You will be sent to sign in with your Avlok account and approve the connection. This uses OAuth, so Claude never sees your password. See Authentication for the detail.

4. Try it.

   Ask Claude to “find my photos from the Italy trip” or “show me pictures of my dog.” Claude will call Avlok and show results, with previews, in the conversation.

Note

The exact wording of Claude’s connector settings can change as the product updates. If a label here does not match what you see, look for the option to add a custom connector by URL.

Privacy

This path stores small thumbnails and short descriptions for the folders you chose, so an assistant can search them. Your full-resolution photos never leave your device. You can turn Cloud AI Access off at any time, and the data is deleted after 14 days. See How Avlok handles your data for the full picture.
